When I head to the thrift stores, like Goodwill, and the Salvation Army, I don't have any expectations or have any particular piece/s in mind, and I believe that is why I find really great pieces. I am their because its my passion to find great pieces of furniture. Every piece needs to be looked at differently. I recently went in to Goodwill and purchased this Mid-Century Modern End Table, in really bad condition. I wasn't sure, whether to paint, re-stain, or both! i decided to re-stain, the only thing missing is the drawer...bummer.
before:
This table definitely shows potential.
No drawer means, a shelf and basket.
Some TLC and she is ready for a new home!
I decided to chip away at the old veneer, I am
hoping to replace it.
The photo in the center is (after) chipping away at the veneer
I used Wood Filler to fill a few patches that you sometimes get
from digging a little too deep into the wood.
Stay tuned, next sanding, new veneer, and then
staining.
Thanks for stopping by
